Sheetflow Songs is a unique collaboration between composer/accordionist Peter Flint, guitarist/composer Ben Kaplan and visual artist Dorothy Simpson Krause. Created for the exhibition of Krause’ body of work River of Grass at 571 Projects in New York City in 2012, this piece takes its cues from Krause’ visual work, the disappearing landscapes of the Florida Everglades and the seminal work of environmentalist Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
571 Projects seeks to bridge the gap between dynamic emerging & mid-career artists and engaged collectors, both those beginning to collect and those looking for fresh talent. To support the work of significant artists, we provide a forum through tightly curated, solo exhibitions that showcase a single body of work. 571 Projects runs a carefully selected program of concerts, poetry readings and artist talks responding to the visual arts program.
